The male Jumping Spider holds the female's abdomen twisted over so that he can use his palps to place his little "packet" of sperm at the appropriate location.
Perhaps the logistics of surviving the encounter is sufficiently exciting to the male to make up for the fact that the actual insemination mechanism is little different to posting a letter.
